Field Dimensions

Field Dimensions

Our field layout is designed for fast-paced 5v5 football, strategic spacing, controlled physicality, and tournament-style competition.

Preferred Field Standard

For final tournaments and championship play, 5x5 Football prefers a field size of approximately 76 yards long by 30 yards wide, measured end zone to end zone and sideline to sideline.

Field dimensions may be adjusted depending on available space at parks, complexes, and facilities while keeping gameplay as close to the preferred standard as possible.

Field Layout

  • Preferred full field length: approximately 76 yards
  • Preferred field width: approximately 30 yards
  • End zones on both ends
  • Red zone areas near scoring territory
  • No-run zones before key line-to-gain areas
  • Midfield line-to-gain

No-Run Zones

No-run zones are used to prevent power-running advantages and preserve the passing, spacing, and strategic nature of the 5x5 Football format.

When the offense is inside a no-run zone, the ball must be advanced by a legal pass. Designed runs, handoff runs, and rushing plays are not permitted inside those areas.

Field Diagram

A field diagram will be used as a visual reference for end zones, red zones, no-run zones, midfield, and line-to-gain spacing.

The current diagram is being used as a working reference and may be redesigned later to match the final 5x5 Football website brand system.

Facility Flexibility

Because adult league and tournament play depends on permitted field space, dimensions may vary slightly by location.

League administration may adjust field setup based on park restrictions, facility dimensions, safety, field availability, and tournament needs.

Built For 5v5 Football

The field layout supports high-scoring, fast-paced, strategic football while preserving the competitive integrity of the format.
